Streszczenie
Według powszechnie głoszonych poglądów obecnie obserwowany jest od co najmniej kilku dekad systematyczny wzrost średniej temperatury na Ziemi, określanej również mianem średniej globalnej temperatury. Próżno jest jednak szukać ścisłej definicji rozważanego pojęcia, w związku z czym można postawić pytanie, na ile wiarygodne są wszelkie stwierdzenia tego pojęcia dotyczące. Autorzy artykułu wykazują, że średniej temperatury na Ziemi nie można w ogóle zmierzyć, gdyż jest to w praktyce niewykonalne i w związku z tym z konieczności musimy opierać się tutaj jedynie na pewnych ekstrapolacjach dokonywanych za pomocą wcześniej opracowanych modeli matematycznych, a to z kolei rodzi kolejne pytania o ich zgodność z rzeczywistością, zakres zastosowania oraz stabilność numeryczną.

Abstract
According to widely held views, a systematic increase in the Earth’s average temperature, also referred to as the global average temperature, has now been observed for at least several decades. However, it is in vain to find a strict definition of the concept under consideration, so the question can be raised as to how reliable are any statements concerning this concept. The authors of the article show that the average temperature of the Earth cannot be measured at all, as this is not feasible in practice and, therefore, we must of necessity rely here only on certain extrapolations made with the help of mathematical models developed in advance, which in turn raises further questions about their correspondence to the reality, their scope of application and their numerical stability.
